Yes. Something that always stays with me is the description in her House of the Spirits of how Alba–with Clara’s “help”/suggestion–writes a book in her mind, trying to memorize each page before it is “erased.” After everything that can be taken away is taken away, she still has her mind and heart and memory and uses them and thus is not imprisoned at all. I love that.
Hmm, I could have sworn I left a comment on your last post…to let you know that obviously you’re entered into my little giveaway (what do I know about Australian tv?) 😉 Thanks for entering.
Isabel Allende is a great writer and very inspirational.
Thanks or visitng my blog. Yours looks fascinating. I will have a look around. Do come back and visit again!
I also like bone china, bright lippy and vintage frocks. Good to ‘meet’ a kindred spirit.
Your writing sounds so interesting. I started a kind of gohic story. Need to finish it now! x
Tracy, I will be back and I do think we are kindred spirits! That’s the best thing about blogging how you can connect with soul-folk all over the world. I love your blog also. Best wishes for your writing. xx
i’m afraid i am remiss in not having read any isabel – must remedy this on my rare forays from children’s literature or the 19th century! we just read e. nesbit’s book of dragons – truly fabulous and entertaining for mr 6 and me!
Hello Jennifer, I am reading Jen Storer’s The Accidental Princess to Daisy which she is loving. E.Nesbit was always a goodie, too. Curious Cat, I have missed you! I have been very slack in getting around all my favourite blogs with my copyedit but I shall visit soon. The clip is from YouTube. xx
