Fairies Welcome

We’ve just returned from a joyful week in the mountains.

Josephine Pennicott working on the first draft of Currawong Manor

I caught up with old friends over pots of tea and marshmallow hot chocolates. Filled a notebook with ideas and inspirations from the great muse the bush.

Walked for hours marvelling over the Autumn colours and inhaling the  joyful scent of the bush soaked after heavy rain falls.

I finished the first draft of Currawong Manor and got ideas for at least seven more books. The bush is always generous to me with ideas…

No television, no internet just some excellent books and our imaginations.

And the mountain fairies were of course all welcome.

Dear Jen, you make me smile. Thank you for spreading the good vibes of Poet’s Cottage. Pearl is a funny character, isn’t she? People seem to either love or hate her. She was always so sassy and fun for me to write and by god – she was very insistent that things had to be done her way when I was writing. I could really smell her cigarettes and her perfume when she was in the shed with me. I miss Pearl. xx

Hello, June will be perfect in the mountains. I love being up there at all the different seasons (except for the bushfire season). I’m hoping to have another writing retreat up there again in winter. I really miss very cold winters. I have so many happy memories of snow in Tasmania. Thanks for your visit. xx
